The format for the All-Star race of season two has been released! Along with who will be locked into the main event!
The second annual POG Series All-Star race will take place in the impressive, Dodge Motordrome. And once again the All-Star race will be placed at the midpoint of the season, giving a good split between the first half of the season and the back half. In season one, the format for the Wurth All-Star Dirt Derby was simple. A 38-lap event around the famous Knoxville Raceway, with the winner getting a 10 point bonus. Jordan Tiegs went on to win the inaugural All-Star event, and he would then go on to win the championship. For season two, the location isn't the only thing that's changed. Season two will feature an All-Star Open event where drivers who aren't locked in can fight for a chance to race in the main event. Speaking of the main event, the race will be a total of 50 laps around the Dodge Motordrome, a small increase over the first All-Star race. The prize has also had an increase, from a 10 point bonus to now a 25 point bonus. A big increase for the second annual All-Star race. Now the question is, who is locked in to the All-Star main event? Well, first off all former All-Star winners are automatically locked in for life. Second, the top 15 drivers in points from season one will all be locked in, except for Mike Fallon, AKA TwistedToe, as he will not be returning for season two. Third, all race winners from season one will be locked in as well. Now we get to who can race their way in. If a driver wins a race before the all-star race in season two, they will lock in. And finally the top five finishers from the All-Star Open will transfer into the main event.
Here's a quick list of who is already locked into the main event: - #57 Jordan Tiegs - #68 Ricochet - #5 Logan Rock - #77 Pirateman - #22 Brent Cox - #12 Trumpet - #54 Razburry - #19 Adam Irish - #33 Mellow - #16 Hayden Ruffin - #4 David Garcia - #75 Julia - #26 Landon Rock - #44 Conrail - #24 Balto
The total field for the All-Star race will be at least 20 drivers, but with the rule of if a driver wins before the All-Star race, the total could jump up to 21-27! It'll be a fun race for sure!
